Leicester City have signed 18-year-old Manchester United midfielder Iestyn Hughes on a free transfer.
The Welsh youth international joins the Foxes on a three-year deal after a brief trial spell with the club’s Development Squad.
Hughes, whose contract at Old Trafford expires this summer, will join Leicester on a permanent basis and will feature heavily for Steve Beaglehole’s Under-23s next term.
“Great day seeing where Iestyn’s journey will continue,” his mother, Samantha, wrote on Twitter, alongside pictures of the training ground at Seagrave.
“All the hard work, dedication, commitment and sacrifices you’ve made have been so worth it after seeing this today. Proud mum and dad.”
