Leicester City have appointed Guy Branston as loans manager with specific responsibility for the Professional Development Phase group.
The 39-year-old, who was Director of Recruitment and Development at Chesterfield from April to October 2017, will find suitable loans for the club’s U18 and U23 players and support them once they are there.
Branston has been coaching at Leicester’s academy for the last 12 months. He is understood to have a good working relationship with Foxes Director of Football Jon Rudkin, having played under him when he was an Academy coach at the club in the 1990s.
Former Foxes midfielder Dean Hammond had been the loans manager since January 2018 but has stepped down from his role for personal reasons.
